Susanne Forestieri, Las Vegas, Nevada portrait and figurative artist applies her expressive, impressionistic style to diverse genres – showgirls, dancers, New York City street scenes and family portraits. One of her favorite subjects, children playing dress-up, inspired a series of small paintings for which she was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in 1996. As one of the few so honored, a record of her work is in the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.

In 2003 the Las Vegas Art Museum gave Ms.Forestieri her first retrospective exhibition. Ms. Forestieri has a long history of museum exhibitions. Early in her career she exhibited at the National Academy Museum and the American Museum of Illustration in New York City.
Her skill was evident to Philip Pearlstein, who chose her portrait of her parents for the exhibition Contemporary Portraits from the Northeast (1987). She has also captured some well-known faces, Eileen Fulton , leading lady from "As The World Turns" and United States Senator Harry Reid.

Ms. Forestieri’s paintings are in the collection of the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, Girl Scouts of America headquarters and McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. In 2007 she had a solo exhibit of her "Film Noir"drawings at the Trifecta Gallery, Las Vegas.

In addition to teaching drawing part-time at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Ms.Forestieri writes a bi-weekly art review column for the Las Vegas Weekly. Her own work is featured in the 2005 Sept. Issue of the Artist’s Magazine, Nov. Issue of Southwest Art, the 2006 June’July issue of International Artist magazine and Dec. 2005 issue of Las Vegas Home & Design.

Ms.Forestieri is represented by the Ryan Gallery in Las Vegas.
